Cleavers & Butcher's Knives

A cleaver or butchers knife is certainly one of the most impressive knives you will find. This style of knife is large, commonly rectangular and it is used to split, or cleave, meat from a bone. This style of knife carries a heavy blade and it commonly has a convex shaped bevel. The knife is deigned to be used in a sharp and swift movement, without being put at danger or risk of damage. A cleaver will commonly be found with a hole cut in its end but this is to allow for easy hanging as storage.
